Cass Art Glasgow
Arts For Life School Programme, module 1.
The Arts For Life programme has been developed for P5 – S6 pupils with a wide range of needs and abilities, enabling therapeutic art techniques to become part of their tools for life. The programme is best suited on a 1 to 1 basis or within a small group setting. No previous art experience is needed, the CPD accredited 2 day training is filled with experiential learning as well as the theory behind the methods.
What will I gain?
The 2 day training and 3 follow up 1 to 1 sessions with you, to ensure the appropriate implementation of the 6 week programme. The 6 week programme handbook, tailored implementation process and £60 worth of specialist anthroposophical art therapy materials.
The 6 week programme enables children and young people to express their emotions in a positive way, through non verbal art techniques.
During this two day training participants will be invited to use art techniques which enable expressing emotions in a safe manner through non verbal techniques in art intervention. The participant will engage in the programme, through theory and practise. The programme consists of 6 art techniques, which have been carefully considered to stimulate the following learning:
– Aknowledging feelings
– Understanding that feelings are individual
– Verbalising emotions through actions
– Understanding how behaviour impacts others around you
– Verbalising triggers
– Self-regulating emotions
Our programme has been created over 13 years of experience within ASN education and a 4 year degree in anthroposophical art therapy.
After completing this course the staff member will be able to use the 6 week programme and implement it in your school. Please note, the programme is only to be delivered by participants of this Apply Your Arts training- it is not to be used to skill share. This is not a ‘train the trainer’ event.
£390 This includes a specialist pack of materials worth £60, all hand outs, Apply Your Arts 6 weeks programme planner and tea/coffee with sweet on the day.
